The Dinosaur That Pooped ~ Book Review

Mia's just turned 2, she loves books. Over the last few months she has been asking for a "storieeeee" before bed. I'm keen to encourage this and believe it has played a big part in why her speech and vocabulary is very good for her age.
Whilst I'm not a big reader myself, I do enjoy reading to her as does her Daddy so I was thrilled to be sent The Dinosaur that Pooped series to review.

If you aren't aware of these books (as i wasn't) , they have been wrote by Dougie Poynter & Tom Fletcher (Mcfly) and they are rhyming picture books which make for very fun and easy reading. I can see as she gets older she'll be able to finish the sentences which can only be great for her own reading and writing.

We received the books a few days before Christmas and so we had to start by reading The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas. As a child, our Christmas Eve book was The Night Before Christmas and I can still remember every word. I think a big reason being was that the booked rhymed. As I was reading this to Mia Christmas Eve, I had nostalgic feelings of my Dad reading me that book and felt The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas has been written in a very similar way and would become one that was brought out every Christmas.

As a quick summery, the books are about a boy called Danny. In this one, Danny wants everything for Christmas...he gets a dinosaur, and a hungry one at that. Danny's dino eats up all of Christmas and well, what goes in has to come out!

There are two more books in the series;
In this explosive space adventure, how will Danny get home when his dinosaur eats their rocket?
and
where Danny & his dinosaur flew back through history on a time-travelling swing!

These have also been a big hit, well for us all. Mia has a small collection of lovely books however there's always one that has to be read over and over again. I can honestly say, I don't think we're going to get bored of these and judging by the giggles coming from both Mia and Daddy (obviously you're never too old for Poop jokes!) last night when reading together I'd say they both agree!

Best Part?? You can now get all 3 books on Amazon for under £12!!

Introducing the Pooping Dinosaur!

Just take 5 minutes this afternoon to have a giggle at this video introducing the series of Pooping Dinosaur books, written by Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter from McBusted.

Mia & I just watched this as we are currently awaiting the arival of these books to arrive and she found it funny!

Being 2, she is now asking for her "storieeee" before bed and I have to say these look like great fun not just for her but for us as parents to read too. Especially when they have to be read repeatedly!

Review will be coming shortly once we read them but for now check out this video!

Growbag, Mr Moose Design - *Review*

Babies and sleep...! Always a touchy subject...I've been very lucky to have a very good sleeper and she has been from a very early age however obviously we have had the odd disruptive night which makes me appreciate this! When we have these nights, with the exception of illness, the reason behind it is temperature.

Mia's a good sleeper but a wriggler! Being a winter born baby, we were bought a sleeping bag like this grobag to use from an early age and I honestly believe these have helped her sleep by keeping her snug and warm.
This said, I didn't expect to be using one this winter (Mia's now 2) but only last month we had a night of "Mummy I'm cold" in the early hours followed by "Mummmmm too hot!" an hour or so later. Therefore I was thrilled to be sent this super cute and snuggly 3.5 tog Grobag from The Gro Company to be able to write this review.

We've used this every night and even during the day when Mia has her nap and we've not heard a peep out of her! She has also not as yet been able to get herself out of this one, like she has done with another brand we were using previously, probably due to their being 4 poppers on the shoulders and the zip is under the arm with a zip cover to protect baby.

We were sent the Mr Moose Grobag which can be found here. I love this new design simply because it's wintery and Christmas themed with the snowflakes.

We chose a 3.5 tog which is perfect for this time of year. I don't have the heating on at night and even when I do during the day, I find Mia's bedroom is always the coolest in the house so for this reason the 3.5 tog is right for us.

Not only is the design super cute, the whole bag is so soft and other than pointing out the moose, Mia's first response was to stroke the bag repeating "soft" so I'd say that was a winner in her eyes!
The outside is velour with the 100% cotton jersey lining on the inside.

When Mia was born, one of the gifts my Mum bought for her was a Grobag. I don't think I appreciated at the time how useful it was going to be and actually what a difference it made to us.
I think this design in particular would make a great Christmas gift to anyone with babies and toddlers.

Santa Stop Here!!

So today we had planned to go see Father Christmas so it was only appropriate that Buddy brought a mini version to Mia's dolls house! I have to say, she much preferred this to the big man himself!

This little wooden set is a Rosebud Village set and came with Santa on his sleigh, the reindeer, a sack with presents and even a Christmas Tree. It's absolutely beautiful - I adore wooden toys!

Silly Socks!!

Buddy Decorated the Christmas Tree with some new Christmas socks for Mia!
Instead of doing a "Christmas Eve" box, I decided early on to collect some little bits for Buddy to give out when Mia was good throughout December. For example, she's had Christmas PJ's, activity books, now socks and he will be leaving the ingredients to make some reindeer food next week!

 Letter from Father Christmas!

Buddy today brought Mia her a letter from Father Christmas!
For my full Lapland Mailroom review see my blog post here.
She was very excited when I read this to her and very appropriate when we will be seeing the big man himself this week!

December 14th, Elf Tales Day 14

So Mia woke up at Nanny's house this morning and was amazed that Buddy had come along to keep an eye on her! He'd even brought her some puzzles which he and some friends completed!

Christmas Craft Time

Buddy tried his hand at some Christmas crafts today starting with some paper chains! He didn't get very far so he left Mia the rest to help him. We had a quiet day today so he left us some pictures and paints to get crafty with!

December 10th, Elf Tales Day 10

Sweetie Theif!

This Morning we found Buddy in the Christmas Sweetie Jar! He's eaten all Mia's sweets but had brought her some special Santa sweets from Father Christmas!

Baking Elf!

Buddy came this morning bringing lots of Christmassy cookie cutters and baking equipment for us to bake biscuits together. One example is below...An upside down gingerbread man shape makes for a great reindeer face! Not bad for a first attempt!

Here are some extras we've done this week :)
